Hey, my name is Rachel Karazcon. I
am a 2012 high school graduate from Baptist Park High School where I finished 2nd in my class with a 4.0 GPA. I am now attending
the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where I am studying Chemistry. I hope to be a Pharmacist. My love for gymnastics began when I was very young. When
I was 10, I won my first all-around state championship. At a young age, I put in many hours at the gym. Due to how young I
was and the skills I was doing, my body couldn't handle it. As a result, I ended up with multiple stress fractures in my spine
and had to take a year off. When I came back to the gym the next year, I won my second all-around state championship. However,
shortly after states, my my back was reinjured. The doctor told me that I had to quit gymnastics or my back would never heal
properly and the injury would continue to reoccur. So, I retired from gymnastics. When I was a gymnast, my coaches had a huge influence on me. They didn't only teach me gymnastics,
they taught me things that will help me throughout my life. They taught me to never give up, overcome my fears, and push myself
even when I didn't think I could. I hope as a coach here at Downriver Gymnastics, I will be able to have the same
influence on my students as my coaches had on me.
Hi!
My name is Besa Ziberi. I am a 2011 graduate of Grosse Ile High School and now attend the University of Michigan majoring in
Political Science and a minor in Criminal Justice. I plan to study Law. Growing up, gymnastics was always and still is one of my favorite sports.
I have been a part of the DG family since I was 7 years old. I competed as a Level 7 gymnast here. I
retired once I turned 13 because I decided to dedicate my time to high school sports. I
played basketball, soccer and volleyball. In the fall of 2011, I came back to my DG family when I began coaching.
I absolutely LOVE it! I am looking forward to working with your child. Please let me know if you have
any questions, I’d love to help!
